The Regional Archives Zutphen preserve and maintain the municipal archives of Zutphen, Brummen and Lochem, as well as the archives of local and regional churches, clubs, institutions, companies and other organizations. The 4,5 km of documents, photos, maps, books and charters represent a large history of these three towns in Gelderland.
Our reading room is open to the public from Tuesday until Thursday, 10.00-16.00. Admission is free. Visitors can do their research between these hours. The Regional Archives does not perform any research on behalf of its visitors. It is possible however, to hire an experienced researcher.
If you are looking for genealogical information you will find information both in our reading room as well as on our website.
Of course you are always welcome in our Archives during openings hours or contact us via email or telephone.

Even though our website is in Dutch, the informatiebladen and the collectie voorouders are worth a visit. The informatiebladen contain general information on different topics, whereas the collectie voorouders gives you the opportunity to do searches on your ancestors. In many cases you will find digital copies of the documents in which your ancestors are perhaps named. We are currently still adding more documents to this database. In translating the Dutch text, translation programs such as Google Translate might prove to be helpful.
